Au club sénior de la MGEN à Châtillon, nos cours d’anglais ont évolué pour placer la conversation au cœur de nos séances. Dans des situations de vie quotidienne, les apprenants doivent être à l’aise de s’exprimer en anglais.
At MGEN Châtillon, our English classes have gradually evolved into
something more than traditional lessons. Rather than focusing only on
grammar or written exercises, we have placed conversation at the heart
of our sessions. The goal is simple: to help learners feel comfortable
expressing themselves in English in real-life situations.
Chaque
semaine, les étudiants reçoivent une vidéo ou un sujet. Grâce à ce média ils réfléchissent et préparent leurs interventions futures. Ainsi tout
le monde a quelque chose à dire : les discussions sont dynamiques et les étudiants
participent réellement.
Each
week, students receive a video or topic in advance. This gives them time
to watch, reflect, and prepare their ideas at their own pace. When we
meet in class, everyone already has something to say. This preparation
makes a real difference — discussions are more dynamic, and students
participate with more confidence.
Nous parlons des actualités, des activités du week-end, des vacances passées ou à venir. Ces moments informels sont essentiels ; ils créent une atmosphère détendue et permettent aux élèves de pratiquer
l’anglais. Puis, nous abordons le thème de la semaine (social, culturel ou vie
quotidienne). Les élèves partagent leurs opinions ... L'accent n'est
pas mis sur la perfection mais sur la communication. Les erreurs font
partie du processus d'apprentissage. Au
fil du temps, les élèves s’engagent dans des conversations plus
longues, maîtrisent un nouveau vocabulaire et leur aisance est liée à la
pratique régulière de la langue.
Our sessions often begin with
simple conversations about daily life. We talk about how everyone is
doing, what they did over the weekend, how they spent their holidays, or
what they are planning for the summer. These moments may seem informal,
but they are essential. They create a relaxed atmosphere and allow
students to practice English in a natural and meaningful way. From
there, we move on to the main topic of the week. Whether it is a social
issue, a cultural subject, or something related to everyday life,
students are encouraged to share their opinions, agree or disagree, and
react to one another. The emphasis is not on perfection, but on
communication. Mistakes are part of the process, and they are welcomed
as opportunities to learn. Au

Au-delà de la
salle de classe, nous accordons de l’importance à la convivialité. Chaque année en décembre, nous organisons un
repas-partage pour célébrer les fêtes de Noël. C’est une occasion supplémentaire de parler l'anglais
dans un cadre détendu et convivial. Notre but est atteint lorsque nous sommes aptes à communiquer et à créer des liens tout en maîtrisant bon an, mal an, les règles de base de cette langue.
Over time, this approach has had a
clear impact. Students are speaking more freely, with less hesitation.
They are more willing to take risks, to try new vocabulary, and to
engage in longer conversations. Their fluency has improved not because
they memorize rules, but because they use the language regularly and
actively. Beyond the classroom, we also value moments of
conviviality. Every December, we organize a potluck to celebrate the
Christmas holidays. It is always a warm and enjoyable occasion where
everyone brings something to share. More importantly, it is another
opportunity to speak English in a relaxed, social setting. Conversations
flow naturally, laughter is shared, and the language becomes a tool for
connection rather than just study. These classes are built on
participation, trust, and consistency. By giving students time to
prepare, encouraging them to speak about their own experiences, and
creating a supportive environment, we are helping them develop not only
their English skills, but also their confidence. And in the end,
that is what matters most: being able to communicate, connect, and enjoy
the process of learning a new language together.
